Thursday, August 7

The American Red Cross Richland County Chapter 35356 Bloodmobile will be at the Richland County Fair, 750 North Home Rd. in Mansfield from 12 Noon-6PM. To signup call 1-800 GIVE LIFE.

 

Vance Gilbert with his accoustic guitar, a whimsical sense of humor and his smooth pure tenor voice will prove to be more than enough when he performs at the Guy C. Myers Memorial Band Shell at Brookside Park in Ashland at 8PM.  The designated rain site is the Little Theatre at Ashland High School, 1440 King Rd. in Ashland.

 

The Toure Carter Pro Experience Football Camp will be held at the Mansfield Senior High School  Arlin Field today, tomorrow and Saturday. This is a Free football camp for boys ages 8-17. Each day schedule is the same. Registration is from 8-9AM, Camp is 9AM-1PM with lunch provided at 11AM. Toure Carter plays on the San Jose Sabercats Arena Football team and now wants to give back to the community that helped him be where he is at today.Toure’s main mission is to Teach Aspiring Kids Solid Work Ethics and Techniques Necessary to be Good Football Players and Great Young Men.

The Highlands of Ohio present the Lone Raven Quartet at the Café in Pumpkin Hollow, 24 Bell St. in Bellville at 7:30PM. Garnering rave reviews throughout Ohio and the surrounding states, Lone Raven performs an eclectic blend of traditional music from various areas of the world, as well as their own original compositions. The cost is $10 per ticket and will be available at the door.

 

Madison Athletic Department is holding a meeting in the high school gymnasium for all high school students and parents involved in a fall sport at 6PM. This meeting is mandatory for all athletes and at least one parent or guardian. It should last approximately one hour.

The featured performers are Krista Solars an Ashland County native, the McClure Brothers and the band Apple Creek playing both bluegrass and gospel music. The Megan Parker Building Fund is raising money to build a custom home centered around Megan’s special needs. She has been confined to a wheelchair with scoliosis and muscular dystrophy and is on a ventilator after suffering from  pneumonia. Freewill donations will be taken at the door. The Annual Fishing for Red Fishing Tournament sponsored by the Morrow County Red Cross Chapter will be at the Clear Fork Reservoir St. Rt. 97 Boat Docks. No child will be denied due to inability to pay as donations are accepted.

The Timeline exhibit is commissioned by the Mansfield Bicentennial Committee and funded by the Friends of the Library. The Mansfield Senior High Class of 1934 Reunion will be August 21st. Reservations are due no later that August 11th. For more information call 419-529-2401.

 

The Mansfield Playhouse 95 E. Third St. in Mansfield is holding auditions Monday August 18th and Tuesday August 19th at 7:30PM for Ceely, a Mansfield Playhouse production performed at Malabar Farm. Roles are available for men and women ages late teens to late 60’s. Those auditioning will be asked to read from scripts provided. This is an open call for cast and crew.
